New For 2010!

So things haven’t changed much here at Rockstar HQ in 2009. I’ve made and sold more lures this year then any previous year and hear a lot of positive feedback. I’ve been testing out a few new lure style that will be part of the 2010 lineup, and here they are – new blade shapes and sizes, and new paint coulours, new patterns and new lure sizes!

These lures will be appearing in the shop this week!

I’ve had quite a few people ask me about making some bucktails. Personally I prefer the action a marabou feathers create from my original lures, but I’ve decided to make some bucktails anyway. For those looking for something unique, I’ve been combining both materials to create deadly new lures.

The main advantage to using bucktails is that they will last longer, keeping their colour and size longer that the marabou feathers. Bucktail material will also provide a larger profile in the water, retaining almost the same size when wet or dry.

These lures are just shy of 10 inches in length.

I’ve had a lot of people ask if I will make smaller lures, so decided to give it a try. These new bite size lures are perfect for bass and walleye. You can choose from 3 smaller blade sizes – #3, #4, #5 – and all the same great colours as before. These lures are about half the size of my other lures, ranging from 3-5 inches in length. These lures will be armed with Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp 3x treble hooks. Perfect for bass and walleye.

I’m back from two weeks in sunny Augusta Georgia. I wish the purpose of my trip was to fish, but sadly it was to work. I did however, manage to get a few hours of fishing in, and scoped out several locations for my return trip in June. I caught my first striped bass using a Rockstar Lure, but forgot to put my memory card back into my camera, so sadly there is no photograph. Luckily I visited the worlds largest aquarium in Atlanta, and took hundreds of photos to make up for it. I’ll be adding some new lures to the shop shortly!

If any of you are looking for a new hobby to take up, perhaps something to go alongside your online poker (http://www.partypoker.com/) hobby, then give fishing a go. Fishing is a great way to spend time outdoors and get back to nature. If you don’t think fishing is your thing, then I would definitely recommend a visit to the aquarium, it is amazing for children and adults alike. I hope you enjoy my pictures of all the fish we saw.
